WHAT WE DO

HOLIDAYS

Higher Ground runs therapeutic adventure holidays for people with disabilities.

Join us for an experience of a lifetime – take part in exciting activities, relax and enjoy being in the great outdoors.

Network with others who have the same disability as you, make new friends and catch up with old ones.

Groups that we currently run these programmes for are people who are blind or partially sighted, people with an acquired brain injury and people with an intellectual impairment.

Chess CLub

Beginners through to advanced players are invited to join us for our weekly Chess Club for people who are blind or visually impaired. Chess is one of the few sports where blind and sighted players can compete on a level playing field. There are also national braille chess competitions which we will aim to join in the future.

We have the boards, just come along and see what it is all about. Wednesdays, 6 till 8pm, in Westville. Contact us for more details via email highergroundsa@gmail.com or call/whatsapp 072 141 4408.

Come and meet new people and enjoy the exciting game of chess.

“Every chess master was once a beginner,’ Irving Chernev.
